In the Security Council during the open debate on children and armed conflict, the Permanente Representative of Colombia to the United Nations, Ambassador Maria Emma Mejia, highlighted the lessons learned by our country from experiences in the field about a problematic that we know from upclose. Also remarked the dialogue that remains fluid at both, political and technical levels, between the National Government and the United Nations system, and explained the many advancements on Policy for Prevention of Recruitment and Use of Children and Adolescents Organized by Illegal Armed Groups.
