Colombia in the United Nations Security Council

On March 27, the President of the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations (ECOSOC), Ambassador Néstor Osorio, Permanent Representative of Colombia, led discussions on Youth Forum, which this year focused on the topic "Training the innovators of tomorrow: science, technology, innovation and culture in the service of young people today". The Forum was held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York and was attended by the Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon, the Secretary General of the Department of Economic and Social Affairs, Mr. Wu Hongbo, and a large number of representatives of young people from different regions of the world. In his speech, Ambassador Osorio highlighted the important contributions of young people to the development of humanity, made ​​reference to some of the problems still facing young people in employment, education and the full enjoyment of their rights. He highlighted the role that science, technology, innovation and culture can play in empowering young people to improve their living conditions and promoting their participation in guiding the destiny of society. He stressed the importance of taking concrete actions for the inclusion of young women and girls and promote the growth of their participation in the development of science and technology.
