Dear Political Coordinators,

Today was a busy day. Hopefully, Friday December 6 will be a little better in this regard. Some issues for our upcoming work:

1. UNMOVIC: As announced in consultations today, Dr. Blix will come to the SC in the morning instead of the afternoon. This has been possible because of the postponement of the consideration of the Burundi SG Report. We will discuss the report, and other relevant current matters.

2. Burundi: SRSG Dinka expressed to us today that he was unable to come to the SC to present his report on Friday December 6. It does create a bit of a scheduling problem for the Presidency, but it may allow us to reflect on our discussion with Vice-president Zuma's earlier today. We will inform in due course of a new date for this item.

3. Afghanistan: We will circulate a draft PRST commemorative of the Bonn Agreement tomorrow morning taking into consideration the results of the experts meeting (we prefer this to a press statement, but are open to all possibilities). It will be short, and simple, and should not pose any difficulties to any member. Perhaps we may consider it during our consultations on Friday with a view to its adoption later in the morning.

4. Bosnia Herzegovina: BiH's PR has informed members of the SC in a letter dated 4 December that the Members of the Presidency want to participate in the discussion on Wednesday 12 December. The Presidency feels that this request should be accommodated, and would be inclined to revert to the two meeting approach, first UNMIBH and then UNMOP. In this case, we would have back to back open meetings. The UNMIBH meeting would consist of a briefing by the Secretariat, statements by the members of the BiH Presidency, and a Presidential Statement (no statements by members of the Council). The UNMOP meeting would consist of a briefing by the Secretariat and the adoption of a PRST.

5. The photograph: The photograph of the members of the SC will take place on Friday 6 December. This is the official photograph of the SC and is not related to private publications. We will ask the Secretariat to arrange for this and make any announcements that may be needed. This may be the photo opp for political coordinators!

Should you have any questions, I will be available tomorrow in my mobile (917) 312- 1500 and in and out of my office.
