Dear Political Coordinators,

We think we are coming to an end. Tomorrow, however, there are a number of activities that I would like to highlight.

Our business in the morning of Friday December 20, 2002

1.- Wrap Up This meeting will take place at around 10:30 am. We would like to reiterate that "statements are expected to be brief (no more than 10 minutes), frank, focused, and pointed," on the issues outlined in the non-paper. The meeting should run for about two hours.

2.- Humanitarian exemptions to measures imposed by resolution 1390 (1999) This draft resolution has been submitted as a Presidential text and will be voted immediately after the Wrap Up. Some members of the Council have indicated to us that they may have problems to adopt this text under the agenda item "Afghanistan." The Presidency will organize for this vote under the agenda item "Threats to international peace and security caused by terrorist acts."

Our business in the afternoon of Friday December 20, 2002

1.- Cote D’Ivoire Informal consultations on Cote D’Ivoire will begin at 3:15 pm with a briefing by ASG Kalomoh on the latest developments.

2.- Protection of civilians in armed conflict The Presidency expects to adopt the PRST immediately after the afternoon consultations.

3.- Middle East including the Palestinian Question According to Syria’s request, the Arab text has been put into blue. This may be discussed under "other matters" during consultations in the afternoon.
